Shoes That Fit’s Mission

One of the most visible signs of a child living in poverty is worn-out shoes. Every child deserves to have shoes that fit. Children who attend school with worn-out or improper-fitting shoes have experienced mocking, embarrassment, and the inability to fully participate in sports and recess. Issues like these can have long-term effects on a child’s performance in school.

Since its establishment in 1992, Shoes That Fit has donated 2,800,000 shoes to children nationwide. Through their efforts, educators have reported increases in children’s self-esteem, confidence, physical activity, participation, and social interactions.
